Description
Handcrafted natural-stone sharpening steel from A Pedra Das Meigas, 1800 grit (honing), with an 8 mm stainless-steel core rod that reinforces the natural stone into a safe, reliable and effective tool. The handle, with a guard to protect the hand, is made of pressed wood and stands up to hard use.
The 1800 grit, for honing, sets and maintains an edge that already cuts, keeping your knives in top condition between sharpenings.
Sharpening tools made of natural water stones extend the life of cutting tools indefinitely, as the process involves no sudden temperature changes that would alter the original properties of the steel along the edge. The inner stainless-steel core — an A Pedra Das Meigas invention and patent — greatly extends the product’s life.
Being round, it touches the edge at a single point, making it ideal for fast sharpening and perfect for knives and cutting pieces with curved or scythe-shaped edges.
Always sharpen with water — never with oil.
These are natural stones and must be used wet, with water, never oil: oil would clog them and, over time, render them unusable.
How to use
Place the non-slip base on your workbench and the stone on top of it, then run the knife or cutting tool across the stone. The thickness of the stone keeps your handle and fingers clear as they glide over it.
Maintenance
Simply let the sharpening stones dry after use and store them in their original packaging.
